An underground city in Cappadocia...!

This is a Derinkuyu underground city located in the homonymous Derinkuyu district in Nevşehir Province in Turkey. It is the road between Nevşehir and Nigde , located 29 kilometers from Nevşehir .
Opened it to visitors since 1969 until today, but only 10% of the underground city are accessible to tourists. At present 20 levels have been discovered beneath the soil  extending to a depth of approximately 85 meters but only eight can be visited by tourists. The underground city could accommodate 10,000 people and could be sealed by huge stones can not reach the enemies inside. The weight of the rocks reached 500 pounds!

The underground city at Derinkuyu has all the facilities that existed in other underground complexes across Cappadocia, such as wine presses, stables, stores, dining and churches. Something unique in the Derinkuyu complex located on the second floor is a spacious room with vaulted ceiling. It is reported that the room was used as a religious school and the rooms left for studies. Between the third and fourth level is a vertical ladder.

In this way passage leads to a cruciform church in the lower level. The large axle vent length 55 meters seems to have been used as well. The axis of the water supplied both to those who lived in the area and those who were hiding.
