Removable city on wheels

Imagine a city that moves. Not talking about a house, but for entire buildings with halls, hotels and other buildings on wheels. This is the vision behind «A Rolling Master Plan» an idea for the Norwegian city of Åndalsnes by Swedish architectural firm Jägnefält Milton.

Both existing and new rail systems will help the city to change both the seasonal changes, and for special events. This idea won third place in an international competition to design cities. It involves small buildingslike a rolling hotel, public baths and concert hall.

This city is full of tourists in summer but in winter it is deserted because of the low temperature. Manufacturers thought that in this way can every year to change the structure and location of buildings so that each time the tourists to see a new city!

"We are really pleased that the jury has heard our proposal, not only because it is a good proposal which we are very proud but also absolutely possible," says Carl Jägnefält, one of the two founders of Jägnefält Milton.
