The lakes are Plitvice in Croatia is truly fairytale. As the water flow in limestone of the region are concentrated in small or large cavities. Over the years sediment carrying gather there encountered barriers, creating natural dams which in turn created a series of beautiful lakes, caves and waterfalls.
There are currently around 20 lakes, most of which are linked together . The area is a popular tourist destination of the year even the united Yugoslavia.
The lakes and the namesake park, ie the space surrounding them have joined since 1979, the World Heritage List of UNESCO as an area of outstanding natural beauty. As we can easily imagine the area is rich in fauna and flora.
