ఆపిల్ ఐప్యాడ్ అంటే మీకిష్టమా? కానీ ధర చూసి ‘అబ్బో! ఇది మన కోసం కాదులే’ అనుకుంటున్నారా? అయితే ఇంకొక్క నెల ఆగండి... మీరూ ఈ టెక్నాలజీ అద్భుతాన్ని ఆస్వాదించవచ్చు. టాబ్లెట్ ప్రపంచంలో పెరిగిపోతున్న పోటీని తట్టుకునేందుకు ఆపిల్ మినీ సైజులో సరికొత్త ఐప్యాడ్‌ను అందించబోతోంది మరి. అంతకంటే ముందు సెప్టెంబరు 12న ఐఫోన్ తాజా వెర్షన్‌ను విడుదల చేస్తామని ఆ తరువాత అక్టోబరు నెలలో ఐప్యాడ్ మినీ విడుదల ఉంటుందని కంపెనీ వర్గాలు తెలిపాయి. 

ఆపిల్ కంపెనీ తయారుచేసే ఉత్పత్తులు డిజైన్ పరంగా ఎంత ముద్దుగా ఉన్నప్పటికీ ధర మాత్రం సామాన్యులకు అందుబాటులో లేనంతగా ఉంటుంది. అయితే ఇటీవలి కాలంలో గూగుల్ నెక్సస్-7 పేరుతో, అమెజాన్ కిండల్ ఫైర్, శాంసంగ్ గెలాక్సీ పేరుతో చిన్న ట్యాబ్లెట్లను విడుదల చేయడంతో ఆపిల్ కూడా ఈ దిశగా అడుగులేయడం మొదలుపెట్టింది. తాజా అంచనాల ప్రకారం ఐప్యాడ్ మినీ దాదాపు ఎనిమిది అంగుళాల స్క్రీన్‌సైజుతో లభ్యం కానుంది. ధర రూ.11 వేల నుంచి రూ.16 వేల లోపే ఉండవచ్చునని అంచనా. నెక్సస్-7, కిండల్‌ఫైర్‌ల మాదిరిగానే ఎనిమిది గిగాబైట్ల ఇంటర్నర్ మెమరీతో లభిస్తుందని భావిస్తున్నారు. ఐప్యాడ్‌కు ఉండాల్సిన మిగిలిన అన్ని హంగులూ మినీలోనూ ఉంటాయని ప్రత్యేకంగా చెప్పనవసరం లేదు!

Now, headset that controls blood pressure

A new gadget that controls high blood pressure by playing music could be an alternative to pills to help thousands of patients, researchers say.

The device – which looks like a portable CD player – slows down breathing by playing relaxing music through headphones. It will be available on the NHS for the first time.

Researchers claim it could help tens of thousands of patients control high blood pressure without having to take endless drugs with unpleasant side effects, the Daily Mail reported.

Called the Resperate, it works by first checking a patient's breathing via a strap tied around the chest. It then creates a tune and patients breathe in and out in time with certain notes.

The music then gradually slows down – as does the patients' breathing.

Patients are advised to use the Resperate for at least 40 minutes a week – four sessions of ten minutes.

The average person takes 18 breaths a minute, but to lower pressure you have to take ten or fewer – which is helped by the Resperate.

The device will be available for GPs to prescribe to patients at a cost of 7.40 pounds a time and maker Intercure claims it has helped patients come off their medication.

But experts point out there is no evidence to suggest it could replace medication.

"As with any adjunct therapy, it must not be used as a replacement for any treatments prescribed by a GP," said a Blood Pressure Association spokesman.

Google going to launch Chromebook

 Internet giant Google's Chromebook, a laptop-like device or a netbook tailor-made for Web browsing and running on its Chrome Operating System, is likely to be shipped in India by early 2012.

Sundar Pichai, Senior Vice-President, Chrome and Apps for Google, said: “we are very excited about chrome books we have taken our 1st step in the long journey. so we have exceeded the market in many countries to gain mindshare. In 2012 we will be expanding in more countries and it's my hope that we will be India also.”


Chromebook was launched earlier this year and runs on Google's cloud-based operating system and its Web browser Chrome. Priced between $349 to $499 in the international markets, only Samsung and Acer currently sell Chromebooks through online stores.

“Chrome, is very popular on laptops, where most of the time is spent browsing and, it was natural for us to take the next step: build an OS to bring the full power of the Web to users. In October 2011, Chrome overtook Microsoft's Internet Explorer as the most popular browser in India,” Pichai said.

Analysts say Google needs to address issues of pricing and features to make it a success in India.

Google says as of now Chrome will be only for the laptop market, while the popular android operation system will be for Smartphone's and tablets.
