favorite country house of joseph stalin

In 1993 this object was finally given to the Abkhaz authorities and now it’s a popular tourist attraction.
They say that Stalin had 5 country houses in Abkhazia (in Gagra and on Lake Riza in particular). Still, this one was the most favorite. He came here 5-6 times a year. Accordingly, there were all conviniences: a direct communication line with the government, the staff of 800 people, secret passages leading to the sea and to railway stations and some other ruses…

There were three spacious bedrooms in his cottage. You might ask: What for? Three bedrooms for one person! (note, guests lived in a separate building). The answer is obvious: for conspiracy. While Stalin slept in one of the beds, the two others were occupied by mannequins. Sometimes he even slept on a small sofa standing near the large one. The truth is he suffered from persecution mania…
All rooms except for the bathroom were decorated with various kinds of wood (ash, beech, walnut, Karelian birch, chestnut, etc.). No wallpaper, no paint, no slaked lime. All is beautiful, tasteful, unpretentious and harmonious! Glass windows were crystal.
