The beautiful Potala Palace in Tibet...!

Built on a hill Marpo Ri , one hundred thirty feet above the valley ofLhasa , the Potala Palace rises  even 170 feet and is the largestmonument at Ol the Tibet. In 637 Emperor Songtsen Gampo decided to build this palace on a hill , and the structure stood until the seventeenthcentury , and included in  older buildings that survive today . The construction of the palace began in 1645 during the reign of the fifthDalai Lama and the added between 1690 and 1694 . For theconstruction took over 7000 interpreted cats and 1500 artists andcraftsmen . The Potala Palace was small disasters during the uprisingin Tibet against the invading Chinese in 1959 .

  Fortunately, and other religious structures did not accept major disasters between 1960 and 1970 . As a result , all the churches andart are very well preserved .
