An underground city in Cappadocia...!

The Derinkuyu is an underground city located in the homonymous district Derinkuyu in Nevşehir Province in Turkey. It is on the road between Nevşehir and Nigde , located 29 km from Nevşehir .
Opened it to guests from 1969 so far but only 10% of the underground city is accessible to tourists. For now discovered 20 levels below ground  extending to a depth of approximately 85 meters but only eight are visited by tourists. The underground city could accommodate 10,000 people, and could be sealed by huge stones can not reach the enemies inside. The weight of the rocks reached the 500 pounds!

The underground city in Derinkuyu has all the amenities that existed in other underground complexes throughout Cappadocia, such as wine presses, stables, warehouses, dining rooms and chapels. Something unique to the band Derinkuyu located on the second floor is a spacious room with vaulted ceiling. It is reported that this room was used as a religious school and the rooms left for studies. Between the third and fourth level is a vertical ladder.
In this way passage leads to a cruciform church in the lower level. The long axis vent length 55 meters seems to have been used as well. The axis has provided water to both those who lived in the area and to those who hid.
