Baobab, the "upside down trees"

According to an old legend of Madagascar, when God first planted the Baobab is kept moving. Then God uprooted and planted upside down with its roots to the air. Thanks to this legend, the Baobab is called today the "inverted tree" . The Baobab Adansonia belonging to the genus and one species in Madagascar are threatened with extinction. The size of these giant trees ranging from 5 to 30 meters and the diameter of the trunk can reach 12 feet. It's old growth trees can live for thousands of years. There are several types but the most impressive is that of Madagascar. See some of these amazing trees in the photos below.perierga.gr - The upside down tree
