Corals are very beautiful and highly sensitive to environmental changes. They die if surrounding water temperature changes by more than a degree or two beyond their normal range or if water salinity drops.
Corals were mentioned in Greek mythology that are highly curable. That Poseidon resided in a palace made of coral and gems. And, the Romans believed coral could protect children from harm, as well as cure wounds made by snakes and scorpions and diagnose diseases by changing color. Chemical compounds taken from corals are used in medicine for cancer, AIDS, pain, etc. Corals are also commonly used for bone grafting in humans. Bamboo corals may be usable as living bone implants and in aquatic cultivation, because of their potential to mimic valuable biological properties.
Corals are used for making jewelry and as an ornament in the house not only for his noble qualities and beauty but also because of material value. Some corals are highly valued for its rarity like intensely red or pink coral. He is prized as a gemstone.
