The white desert with hundreds of lakes...!

The National Park Lencois Maranhenses located on the northwest coast of Brazil. It is an area of approximately 300 square kilometers, covered with white sand, bare of any vegetation. This makes her look like a desert, even if it is not. What makes Lencois Maranhenses be different than any desert on the planet is the annual amount of rain that falls on it, which exceeds 160 cm (300 times that of the Sahara). The water is stored between the dunes, creating hundreds of lakes, even at a distance of 50 km away from the coast. The real beauty of this unique landscape attracts thousands of tourists to the area. Helicopter rides are organized for those who want to admire her from above, while there are few who are satisfied to dive in clear water lakes.
