The unknown tower of Colorado!

In Colorado, the heart of the National Park of the San Isabel - in CowboyCountry is  a castle with a height of 50 feet, weighing around 50 000 tonnes. It is incredible that this project is a single man Jim Bishop.Curiously though, if you are a tourist   you will not find mention of the castle in any official brochure.

It's really a shame because the place is magical. With wrought iron dragon's head and excellent masonry and the position has been the bulwark is something impressive. However, this is a family home.

The castle, although a house is open to the public all year round. All you have to do to go is to sign a guestbook, releasing Mr. Bishop from any responsibility if something wrong with someone accidentally inside the building. There is no security at the castle because it actually works like site. Like many other castles you enter at your own risk.
The castle is 90 minutes drive from Colorado Springs, is still under construction and any donation is very welcome. It is certainly an ambitious project and they have great costs.
The construction with wrought iron, the hanging bridges and walkways in the tower give an air of eccentricity. Construction began in 1959.
Perhaps the most striking point   is the head of the dragon lying on the castle. This feature has great utility as a chimney of the fireplace so the smoke comes out of the nostrils of the dragon.

The owner, Jim Bishop, had not envisioned this building. At the tender age of fifteen he bought the land with the idea that it would build a family home.
The interior of the castle is something else. The  Stained Glass give the heart of the castle a warm glow.

The reason that this castle is not included in the attractions are the laws on the boundary of the region in   which the castle.
Perhaps this may change as the years pass more and more people realize that what we have here is something unique in Colorado.
