The Ed Jarrett did so on the beach of Farmington in Connecticut. With a height of 11 meters the tower overtook the previous world record was still the same as 2 meters. The Jarrett and a team of 1,000 volunteers who helped build an impressive tower, used more than 1.6 million pounds of sand and water to create it, and it took a total of more than 2,000 hours of work until the finish. The work started April 1, and the project was ready for official measurements seven weeks later, on May 20.
